Yad Ezer La-Haver foundation was founded in the year 2001, when the background to its establishment was the difficult social and economic situation in the country. The foundation runs a 'Warm Home' for Holocaust survivors, soup kitchens for needy families and children at risk. As a rule the foundation strives to help every person in distress who turns to them, and not to turn away any empty-handed person.
On May 5th, 2016, the nation of Israel came to a stand still to remember the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. While remembering a very dark time in the history of the world, there is a place that shines with the light of hope. This is the Haifa Home for Holocaust Survivors
On January 27th, 1945 the largest Nazi death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated by Soviet troops. 71 years after the Holocaust, survivors supported by the ICEJ meet with the President of Israel on International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
