Shimon Sabag, the Founder and Director
My late mother Roza always had hot soup and a kind word to endless visitors we had at our home in the suburbs of Haifa. As the only member of her family to survive in Holocaust, my mother deeply cared not only for those who suffered atrocities of the Holocaust. She never spared herself to help lonely and mentally injured people. She is my great inspiration. I continue the work she started since the establishment of our homeland, when thousands of Holocaust survivors from all over the world came to Israel to find peace and shelter.I believe that "He who helps one person helps the whole world"!
Warm Home
The organization started as a soup kitchen in 1991. Today it looks after 120 residents living in the assisted living compounds – Warm Home – owned and maintained by the organization and its volunteers. Each resident receives hot meals at our community kitchen. We also provide full medical and dental care. Our social workers organise regular activities and outings to engage the residents in the community life.

We do our best to lift the burden of every day struggle for food and medicine, which is, unfortunately, a common case for many aging Holocaust survivors.
Food For All
Since its first days the organization shared the food generously donated to Holocaust survivors with the local underserved population, mainly children and single parent families. Today we have built a network of food donors and facilities, where we can store, package and distribute food to many needy not only in our home city – Haifa but all over Israel.

We believe everyone deserves the right to fullfill the basic need for food and shelter.

Hospice
Our most ambitious project for 2021 is the opening of the first hospice for Holocaust survivors in Israel. This will be the place where our residents and all needy Holocaust survivors get specialized medical care during the inevitable time of their life. We want to be sure that we are ready to be with our wards when they are most dependent on the physical and mental care of others. The construction is in active phase despite the pandemic that put enormous financial and organizational stress on our workers, volunteers and donors. Even in the face of an epidemic, we do not want to postpone this long aspired project. We know that together we will overcome all!
