An Association in Memory of May Naim-Sharf, May Her Memory Be a Blessing
May , whose life was tragically cut short in a fortified shelter in Beeri at the hands of ruthless assassins while fleeing a Nova party during the events of October 2023, was a symbol of joy and love for humanity.
Through her boundless compassion, she illuminated darkness and infused meaning and hope into the lives of many. In her brief life, she demonstrated that seeing others and helping those in need can indeed transform entire lives.
The choice of the name "The Dragonflies of May" resonates with the spiritual and symbolic essence of the dragonfly, which represents change, freedom, connection, and love for humanity in places where these resources are lacking.
"The Dragonflies of May" seeks out children from underprivileged backgrounds across Israel who are unable to access such experiences. The organization focuses on organizing joyful celebrations for those children who are marking their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, thereby allowing them to experience a sense of belonging among their peers. More importantly, we grant them the fundamental right of every individual to experience joy and happiness.
In the spirit of May, we emphasize the importance of mutual guarantee.
"The Dragonflies of May" operates under the auspices of “Yad Ezer LaChaver”organization, mobilizing individuals and large corporations interested in making one-time donations or joining our initiative through monthly contributions. In doing so, they can become partners in this meaningful and blessed journey we have chosen to undertake—an endeavor to continue spreading goodness in our world, a supreme value that reflects the essence, stature, and unconditional spirit of giving of our beloved May ,who is no longer with us.
